          Sunlight streamed through the windows of Team Azul's base as Olive awoke from her slumber. It had been two days since she had dreamt her near death, and though the eevee was still wary of falling asleep, no dreams of the sort had troubled her. She hoped to keep it that way.
          There was a loud knock at the door. Olive, still groggy, mumbled "come in..." Kay practically burst down the door and yelled "Come ON, Olive! We're going to Sky Tower today, remember? The sun rose over an hour ago!"
          Olive groaned. She had forgotten that today was the final day that Koru, Kay's older brother, would be able to stay here. He had to return to the Lightning Field tomorrow. Kay had been incredibly hyper that past two days, probably caused by a mixure of Koru's arrival and her birthday next week. Olive guessed that Kay would've been around fourteen in human years.
          "Hurry up!" called Kay, already racing out the door, "We haven't got all day! I'll go get Alise!" Alise was an altaria on the team, and she would be able to carry Olive, Kay, and Koru to the sky easily. Olive mumbled under her breath and slowly got to her feet. She walked sleepily towards the door, suddenly reminded of something from the human world called "school." Olive couldn't remember exactly what that was, but she figured it had something to do with getting waken up early without her consent. Olive yawned and followed the path Kay had taken, towards Flyaway Forest.
                                                          * * *
          "All right. Thanks, Alise!"
          The altaria nodded and flew back down towards the Hill of the Ancients, away from where three Pokemon were standing at the foot of Sky Tower. Olive, Kay, and Koru gazed up at the magnificent tower of clouds, transfixed with wonder. Koru broke the silence by saying "Well, let's get going," and the small party started up the path. The clouds felt fluffy and warm under Olive's feet. We really should come here more often, she thought.
          The two pikachus and eevee didn't have much trouble with wild Pokemon, as the natural disasters had calmed down and many of Sky Tower's residents knew Olive and Kay. Even so, it was quite a hike, all the way up to the ledge on the midpoint. By the time the group reached their destination, Olive and Koru were completely out of breath. Only Kay was as happy as she had been that morning, her spirits didn't seem to be dampened at all. "Isn't this the perfect day to have a picnic at Sky Tower?" she said happily, swinging her basket around. A couple of Pecha berry muffins tumbled out, falling through a small hole in the clouds and out of sight. Olive laughed, and Kay gave a huff of indignation. She set the basket down on the clouds, then began to unload it's contents.
          A sudden flurry of fluttering wings startled Kay, and she fell over, squashing some Oran berries. A vibrava had broken through the clouds, in his hands(legs?) were the two fallen muffins. "Here," he said, "you dropped these." He handed Kay the muffins. Kay took them, still looking a little shocked. "Th-thank you." she said. "It's no trouble..." the vibrava sighed. He was eyeing the muffins hungrily, and Olive could tell that he had sorely wanted to eat one. She picked up a small Oran cookie and gestured to the vibrava. "Do you want a snack? We've got plenty." The vibrava snatched up the cookie and chomped into it. "Thank you," he said as he ate. "I'm Sky, by the way."
          OK, thought Olive, his name is Sky and this is Sky Tower. That's... cool, I guess.
          Then Sky saw Kay's Vision Scarf, which she had been wearing since Koru gave it to her. "Oh! What's that? Is it a special Scarf? Are you guys on a Rescue Team?" Olive nodded and said "Uhhh... Yeah, we're Team Azul. Well, Koru here isn't, but Kay and I are." The vibrava looked at them in awe. "Rescue Team... Azul? THE Rescue Team Azul? Who stopped the falling star and saved our world?"
          "Well, WE didn't exactly stop the star-" Olive started, but Kay cut her off. "Yes, that would be us. And we're always looking for new members." Kay reached into the basket and brought forth a Rescue Team badge. Where the heck did she get that? Olive wondered.
          Sky took the badge and stammered "You... you're asking me to join you?"
"Of course!" said Kay. "Say... what level are you at?" Sky looked down at the badge, then at her, and said "er.... thirty-five, I think."
          "Great! Olive and I are at level thirty-nine. Shouldn't take you too long to catch up. Welcome aboard, Sky." Sky looked as though he might cry from happiness. Oh, great, thought Olive, we just recruted the world's biggest fanboy.
          Suddenly, everything stopped. Not a single sound could be heard. The four Pokemon didn't know why everything had gotten so quiet, but each one of them could tell that something was happening. The silence was broken by a small whistling, the whistling of the wind. But it... wasn't wind, exactly. After all, what wind could sound so much like a cold voice, whispering horrible things, or feel like a physical presence?
          Sky screeched, and everyone jumped. His eyes blazing with alarm, he cried "Run! Run! We have to get out of here!" and flew off.
          "What in the-" Olive started, but just then the wind picked up and a cold wave of fear washed over the eevee. "Come on!" she called to her teamates, and Koru and Kay quickly followed.
          The wind rose to a gale now, howling in the ears of the Pokemon. It was so strong that Olive could barely keep her footing, and on top of that she felt sick inside. What kind of wind WAS this? Koru and Kay were having trouble too, and once or twice Koru had to grab his younger sister's paw to keep her from being blown away.
          Olive's head was spinning. Her own mind was forcing her to relive every terrible thing that had happened to her in memory. Her first failed rescue, being blamed for the natural disasters, when she had to leave Kay. It was all she saw, all she heard, all she felt.
          Sudden relief washed over Olive when she saw a cloudy platform rising upward. "The stairs!" she cried. But then the eevee felt her feet rising off the ground. What had started as a breeze had become a roaring tempest, sending the hapless Pokemon flying through the air. Olive was spinning, tumbling around and around, and the world was a blur. She caught sight of Sky, struggling against the force of the wind, but to no avail. He was thrown into the same helpless confusion as the others. Olive was suddenly conscious of a wall rushing toward her, and she knew that trying to avoid what was coming was pointless. The eevee's head struck the wall with a sickening crack that did not suit the clouds, and for a split second she thought she saw a small, black figure, fighting the wind, watching her. Olive heard a scream recodnizable as her own, and everything went dark.
                                                              * * *
          When Olive awoke the wind had gone, but her head ached terribly. She lifted a paw to massage it and felt something warm and sticky. Blood. Of course she would be bleeding, after that hit she took. Olive reminded herself that she was lucky to have escaped with only a scratch.
          Then she saw Sky. The vibrava was standing rigid over something on the ground. He turned towards Olive and she could see numerous bruises all over his face. "The wind." he said in a horribly shakey voice. "It takes only one soul. One life. The others are all spared. But there's one who doesn't survive."
          Olive slowly staggered to where Sky was standing and her heart gave a horrible jolt. Kay was unconcious, but obviously alive, her breathing even and regular. But He was not, moving, not breathing.
          It takes only one soul, Sky had said. Please, not him, Olive silently begged. It can't be him.
          Koru was lying dead on the ground.

MAN did this take a long time to type. But I did tell you that this chapter would be more epic, and I was right, wasn't I? And for any of you who read this, but not chapter 1, don't bother reading it. It doesn't really say much.

Oh, and my friend Josie says hi! :D
